Incense Burners and Holders Product Buying Guide
What different types of burners and holders do you sell?
We sell different styles for burning cones and sticks. Some of our burners also double up as storage boxes for the incense and are designed to close when the incense is burning and release the fragrance through decorative holes in the lid. All of our wholesale items will be designed to catch ash avoiding mess and providing a secure, safe position for burning incense.
We sell classic ash catchers for incense sticks, burners for cones and boxes for incense storage and burning. We also stock a range of backflow incense burners.
What is the difference between a backflow burner and a standard incense burner?
Backflow incense smoke flows down not up, so backflow burners are specifically designed to enhance this. Backflow incense is sold as cones and can only be used on backflow burners, do not use backflow cones on a standard incense burner.
Why would a customer need a burner or holder?
Anyone burning incense should use a burner or a holder. Getting the right kind of burner when using an incense cone is really important as, unlike the sticks which burn down to a wooden core (the stick itself), incense cones burn up entirely so they need to be sitting on a heat-resistant, non-flammable surface, generally, the preferable surface should be metal or brass.
Ash catchers also avoid ash getting on surfaces and they provide a stable holder for the sticks. Since they're often decorated they also offer an aesthetic value and are attractive items to have in the home.
How should they be cared for?
When the incense has finished burning, ash should be emptied from the holder and put in the bin once cool. It is also worth gently wiping the holder to get any leftover ash off. Unlike an oil burner, an incense burner doesn't require huge amounts of upkeep.
Which incense holders sell well?
Our Sheesham Wood burners are one of our most popular wholesale incense holders in both round and boat (long) styles. Their simple design with subtle touches of decoration all at a cheap price makes them great sellers. Long ash catchers tend to sell a little better than round catchers, but if you wanted a varied portfolio with different styles then adding a couple of round catchers or some incense boxes is a great way to entice customers to buy something a bit different and a little pricier. All our burners are very high quality, especially our Sheesham Wood burners. Our resin and fantasy burners in both the standard and backflow designs also sell very well and we expand the range regularly to add new themes and designs.
What are they made of?
Either Sheesham wood, resin or ceramics. The majority are made from Sheesham which is a hard Indian rosewood. Most of the pieces we sell have been handmade and are therefore of really lovely quality.
Where are they made?
The Sheesham range comes from India, while the resin collection is made in China.
Can burners be used for anything other than incense?
No, unless it is for something like storage or decoration. Nothing else can be burnt on them as other products that burn, like candles, will get much hotter than incense and therefore can damage the surface of the burners.
We do sell a range of Sheesham Wood Boxes to store essential oils and some wood trinket boxes. These look great displayed next to a range of incense burners.
How are they packaged?
Generally, they come boxed individually; these boxes are plain and for storage rather than display. Some of our ash catchers will come two to a box. Our Sheesham wood catchers and burners come from India, wrapped in paper either individually or in multiples.
Is there a minimum amount that I have to order?
Our Sheesham long and round catchers are inexpensive and generally come in enforced multiples of 10 or 12. Resin burners tend to be sold as singles or in much smaller enforced quantities. As with most of our ranges, we don’t ask customers to buy huge quantities so they can get a good variety.
Do I need to Issue any Safety Guidelines when I sell incense holders and burners?
There are no legal obligations to issue safety guidelines. Like all products that are used for burning incense or candles, care does need to be taken when using the product. We’ve put together some basic safety guidelines which you can recommend to customers if you like.
What are incense burners used for?
Incense burners are used to burn incense in either stick or cone form. Depending on the individual design they can also be used to store incense.
