CPNP reference

European Commission

What is a CPNP reference?

As a supplier of wholesale cosmetic products, we register (or request our manufacturer's register) any product classed as a cosmetic on the Cosmetic Product Notification Portal (CPNP).  This is a portal provided by the European Commission and allows any manufacturer, supplier or distributor of cosmetic products to submit safety and testing certification.  Once submitted a CPNP reference is issued.

Does everything require a reference?

CPNP only refers to cosmetic lines such as lip balms, hand sanitizer, soaps and bath bombs.

What do we have to provide to get a CPNP reference?

As a wholesaler of cosmetic lines, we have to provide MSDS (material safety data sheets), ingredients lists, testing certification and any other relevant manufacturing and testing information.

Can I access this information on the CPNP website?

No, the portal is only for authorities and distributors.  The information about individual products cannot be accessed by the public.

How do I get access to the information

If you require any certification related to our cosmetic lines then please contact our customer service team via email quoting the product reference numbers you require information on and we will get back to you as soon as possible.
